I finally took the plunge and preordered a Nikon D300 (actually, Joke went to the store in my place). After 2.5 years with the D50 it’s time to step it up a notch. Hopefully the D300 will be in my hands before the end of the year, but I won’t hold my breath. More information over at dpreview.

Oh, this is golden! Apparently posting something negative regarding Tokio Hotel is a surefire way of attracting a frenzied, pissed off teenage mob of Tokio Hotel fans to your blog. A fanbase with the spelling capabilities of a 4 year old and the mental equivalent of a carrot, mind you. So just to give them some extra work: Tokio Hotel sucks and Bill’s gay. Please, stop calling the lead singer’s look a style
and let the kid come out of the closet already! On a side note: I wonder how much their baby teeth will go for on Ebay once they start losing them? *grin*

Ok, some of you probably know I’ve started a three year photography course back in September. Well, in November we’re starting with the portrait studio assignments and I’m looking for some models. When I say models I’m not talking about, you know, actual quote-models-unquote. Just people who don’t mind standing in front of a couple of studio flashes for 1.5 hours and getting instructions from a nervous photographer-in-training. Anyway, the first session is planned for Monday November 12th.
If I’m going to be doing this assignment though, I might as well go all out. So I’m looking for something extra (as far as that’s possible). More along the lines of people with visible tattoos, lots of piercings, dreadlocks, dark skin tones (but not necessarily all of those combined). Basically people of all ages who stand out in a crowd. Still, everyone is welcome to apply. Just please don’t expect glamour shots since this is all a bit new for me too :). Oh right, the other dates are 19/11/2007, 7/1/2008, 21/1/2008 and 28/1/2008.
So, if you’re interested, are free between 18:30 and 22:00 on the dates mentioned and can make it to Bruges, shoot me an email at crahan at gmail dot com. Like I said, it’s only for 1.5 hours per session. It’s just that there’s two photographers per studio. Which means one model will be photographed between 18:30 and 20:00 while the other model is scheduled between 20:30 and 22:00. I can’t offer any compensation unfortunately, but you wil receive all the photos I take on a CD or DVD.

Aaaah, today millions of Mac fans will get their grubby hands on the newest incarnation of their favorite OS, run home and install it on a shiny piece of Apple branded hardware. I’d join in the fun, but I’m going to hold off for now. It’s not that I’m not interested in Leopard. I’ve actually been running the beta version I received at WWDC on the 12inch Powerbook for a few months now. No, it’s just that next week my new 15inch Macbook Pro arrives and I’m eligible for a 8.95 euro Leopard upgrade. Booya!
So, for now, I’m sticking with OS X 10.4.10 which is working just fine. I’ll do a fresh install on the new Macbook Pro (with 4GB ram baby!) and then move over all my data. I really don’t want to take any chances upgrading a production system I need in working condition come Monday. In the meantime I’ll scan the usual Apple forums and blogs to see if there’s any issues I should be aware of before I take the plunge.
